Long vs. Short Neck Strings?

Does it mean anything if your doll has short neck strings? I was just changing my Samantha and I noticed she has short neck strings and I was curious if it means anything. Thanks for any help!

Mattel cuts the strings on the dolls.

Not sure if there is a purpose- but long neck strings are early Mattel or PM

Thanks! I think my Molly might be PM, her neck strings are considerably longer than Samantha's.

DD's Marisol has some of the longest strings I've seen. Must be a slip up I guess!

Does the length of the strings mean anything anyway? How would you know if the string was original to the doll?
